\"\u2728\"<\/span>On August 28, 2024, at 9:00 AM, the Thai research team, consisting of researchers from the Faculty of Informatics, Burapha University, the Department of Disease Control, Ministry of Public Health, and the Chulabhorn Royal Academy, attended a special lecture on the topic \u201cUnderstanding Supercomputer & Utilization\u201d at the Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information (KISTI) in Daejeon, South Korea. The lecture aimed to help researchers understand the principles of supercomputer operations, which are crucial tools for conducting research involving large-scale data. The lecture was delivered by Dr. Joonwon Yoon, a principal researcher at the KISTI Supercomputer Center.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The Supercomputer Center provides both paid services for private sector usage in business applications and free services for government agencies or public researchers. During the visit, the speaker explained key information and answered questions throughout the tour. \"\u2728\"<\/span>On the same day at 2:00 PM, the Thai research team attended a special lecture on \u201cKorea\u2019s Efforts for Global Health Security against Next Pandemics\u201d by Dr. Chaeshin Chu from the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA). The lecture focused on exchanging knowledge on public health management, particularly the impacts of epidemics in various aspects such as social impacts, economic impacts, and impacts on the public health system within the country. In addition to these topics, the speaker also introduced the use of a Big Data Platform to aid decision-making in epidemic situations, a topic relevant to the ongoing collaborative research between the Korean and Thai research teams.
